What we do

Syracuse Basement Co. is a basement planning and matching resource for homeowners in Syracuse, Layton, Clearfield, Clinton, West Point, Kaysville and Farmington. We publish plain-language guides on layout, egress, permits and costs, and we connect homeowners with an independent local basement contractor who works layout-first.

We are not a contractor and we don't perform construction. When you send a request, your details are shared with that contractor, who contacts you within 24 to 48 hours to schedule a free in-home walkthrough and then provides a layout sketch, a written scope and an itemized estimate.

How we choose who we work with

We only send requests to a basement contractor whose Utah license and insurance we've checked, and who agrees to start with a walkthrough and a layout rather than a number per square foot.

How we handle facts

Code requirements, permit rules and costs change. Our guides cite official sources such as the Utah State Residential Code, Utah Code and city building divisions, show when each page was last reviewed, and tell you when to confirm something with your city. Photos on this site are illustrations of finished basements, not completed projects.
